German Church Window

The window pictured is from collection of windows that was brought over to the United States from Germany in the 1960’s. The windows were removed from a church in Stuggart, Germany in order to preserve and protect them from bombings during World War II. It is believed that the church was destroyed. A search is under way to find the location of the other windows. It is possible they were sold in a pawn shop in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area about 20 years ago. This window is one piece of the missing collection which includes about 20 other windows. These windows tell an undetermined story, however, clues seen in this window
(the crippled man sitting on a stone staircase, with a cane across his lap and tugging at what could be the blue cloak of Jesus) may represent a healing session. If you have any knowledge that could lead to the location of the other windows please contact the windows owner Michelle Jackson at michelle@frontieraccess.com or you can contact us and we will relay the information.
A CHRONOLOGICAL HISTORY
OF HOW THE WINDOW WAS RESTORED
Our first look at the window was when we unpacked it from a cardboard box as shown in picture. Notice the large piece of missing glass on the left shoulder area and how dark (lack of color and contrast) the window appears. There was a film or plastic coating on the surface of window which needed to be removed before any cleaning or repair work could begin.
